Aksumite

Aksumite are a raw black metal/punk duo from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Despite being firmly rooted in raw black metal these folks manage to sound different and more interesting than most bands in the genre. Really primitive and brutal stuff with pretty catchy riffs and a good dose of hardcore punk. Also, the lyrics deal with ancient african religions and the kingdom of Aksum (modern day Ethiopia), how original is that for a black metal band? Check out their label Colloquial Sound Recordings, most of their stuff is highly recommended.
